For over 100 years Cal Poly has been committed to educating its students through a “hands-on” technique, so being in an agriculturally rich environment definitely helps its novice winemakers learn the entire process from grape to bottle. Establishing a relationship with Orcutt Road Cellars to produce the wine and sourcing its grapes from the Trestle Vineyard located on campus, Cal Poly released its first vintage in 2006 and specializes in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and red dessert wine.
